The role will be responsible for digital architecture of Tapestry IT Digital and its respective systems. The Digital Architect Director, drives technology strategy and influences business stakeholders and will work with engineering leaders on definition and delivery of high scalable solutions.



  • Is accountable for defining and driving software architecture and enterprise capabilities to ensure scalability, fault tolerance, extensibility and maintainability across tapestry
  • Identify and enforce overall architectural principles, framework and standard
  • Diagnose complex technical and business problems and implement creative solutions
  • Lead the IT strategy for existing integrations and identify new opportunities
  • Provide leadership to engineers, and product stake holders
  • Drives research, case studies and prototyping on leading edge technologies and how they can be leveraged and benefit Tapestry organization
  • Architect IT solutions across variety of technologies including (but not limited to):
    1. Salesforce CommerceCloud (DWRE)
    2. Industry leading Order Management and Warehouse Management Systems
    3. Tapestry Corp Ware (Home brew software applications)
  • Oversees software architecture across Tapestry IT Digital within scope of assigned systems
  • Analyze and provide feedback on product strategy




  • Minimum five (8) years of technical software product development and support of a best in breed ecommerce platform.
  • Ideal knowledge / experience with Java, J2EE, AWS (and/or other public clouds), CI/CD, Enterprise integration architecture and patterns
  • Agile SDLC
  • Must be able to communicate effectively to IT management as well as business area experts with skills such as empathetic and active listening, and clearly and patiently articulate solutions.
  • Ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, including prioritizing and mutli-tasking while paying close attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate strong technical acumen for troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Must be able to quickly assess issues and react to changing circumstances and new information

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, PHP, Ruby, DemandWare, Oracle, Hadoop, MySQL, MSSQL
  • Internet protocols: SMTP, HTTPS, SOAP/REST
  • Bugzilla / JIRA experience a plus
  • Command line SVN
  • Experience with 3rd party commerce integrations across ESP, OMS, WMS, Analytics, Scene7, Ratings & Reviews
  • Exposure to PII & PCI policies
  • Prefer experience working in a fashion / multi-brand environment. 
  • Experience with Demandware architecture and capabilities a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business or related field preferred.
