Responsibilities

  • responsible for driving sales volume for kate spade new york specialty and coutlet stores utilizing compelling and innovative visual merchandising presentations.
  • partner with each store leader and district leader to analyze and review sales performance of in-store configurations fixtures and displays in order to drive sales and margin.
  • be the brand gatekeeper, ensuring that the image and aesthetic of the company is projected at all times utilizing merchandise presentations, interior displays and mannequin styling.
  • manage the kate spade new york aesthetic so that appropriate substitutions and adaptations can be made to merchandise presentations, interior displays and mannequin styling based on product ownership, business needs and store-specific architecture.
  • responsible for the visual impact by following, interpreting and translating corporate direction while remaining consistent with weekly, monthly and seasonal brand direction.
  • consistently conceptualize new and creative in-store merchandising ideas to drive out-of-the box thinking.
  • with the assistance of the market visual manager, partner with store design and buying teams to continually evolve the in-store experience while showcasing new product categories in innovative and compelling ways, as well as conceptualizing and overseeing implementation of new and/or updated fixtures.
  • develop and manage ongoing communication between field management teams, stores and corporate visual management to ensure stores have adequate visual resources and support to meet the company standards.
  • identification and follow-up of preventative store deficiencies including: broken/shipped fixtures, paint, façade damages, lighting issues, etc.
  • communicate with store teams to plan, oversee and execute all product placement, fixture layouts, displays and window installations for any corporate floorset roll outs (monthly/seasonal).
  • partner with market visual manager to map, merchandise and develop the floorsets for all stores.
  • facilitate training sessions and development of store leaders and supervisors who perform visual/operational tasks within market.
  • assist store teams with onboarding of new associates with regards to visual display standards and proper maintenance.
  • reinforce back-of-house organization, maintenance and cataloguing of all visual props, mannequin, fixtures and signage.
  • partner with store teams to setup and assist with any in-store events.
  • participate in corporate/field leadership store visits with ability to present and discuss any visual successes and/or opportunities.
  • participate in any specialty functions as needed which may include: market presentation set up, monthly mock store set up, monthly directive floorsets, visual update initiatives, wholesale visits, etc.
  • partner with the visual merchandiser to act as a liaison of communication between corporate direction and store level execution; this includes weekly, monthly communications as needed

Qualifications

  • strong merchandise presentation skills that support high-volume and flagship stores.
  • capacity to identify challenges and develop solution the visual merchandising opportunities.
  • strong strategic planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize deadlines.
  • detail oriented with an entrepreneurial disposition.
  • high-level leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively and graciously with all levels within the organization, including strength in presentation skills.
  • comfortable and confident in making effective and autonomous decisions in a professional and timely manner.
  • stay abreast of the latest fashion, environmental and interior trends.
  • ability to manage personal travel, entertainment budgets and calendars.

 

 

physical requirements:

  • flexibility to work off-peak hours including weekends and overnights.
  • able to safely lift/move 50 lbs.
  • comfortable with heights and climbing ladders.
  • able to stand and stretch for extended periods of time.
  • able to travel up to 50% of the time using various forms of transportation such as airplanes, trains and buses.

 

 

education and experience required:

  • a minimum of three years visual merchandising experience in luxury goods or a comparable retail environment in a corporate environment
  • college degree preferred
