Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities/Deliverables:

 

Visual Communication:

  • responsible for driving sales volume for the new york store group through compelling and innovative visual merchandising presentations and mannequin styling.
  • has a unique understanding of the brand aesthetic and protects brand integrity at all times through all visual decision making.
  • partners with each store leader and the regional leader to analyise and review sales performance of interior presentations. Is pro active to make updates in line with brand direction if there are business opportunities.
  • manages execution and schedules accordingly to meet corporate deadlines such as floor set and weekly updates.
  • partner with Snr VM field manager and VM field team to identify opportunities, share and gain feedback, and explore presentation development to influence the new york stores.
  • Balances time appropriately across ny business channels (speciality and wholesale).
  • communicate and ensure completion of preventative store deficiencies (FMO) including; broken/chipped fixtures, paint, façade damages, lighting issues etc.
  • ensure back of house organization, maintenance, and cataloguing of all visual props, mannequins, and fixtures is being maintained in all stores.
  • partner with store manager to setup and assist with any in-store events.
  • participate in corporate/field leadership visits with ability to present and discuss any visual successes and/or opportunities.
  • Prioritises and manages the nyc vm market manager to assist with all visual workload and decessary scheduling.
  • consistently conceptualise new and creative in store merchandising ideas to drive out of the box thinking.
  • Acts as a brand embassador who is a self motivated leader operating at a senior level within the corporate and field VM team.

 

 Deliverables:

  • Execute focused visual training workshops and exercises using ksny standards and training tools to educate store team members and ensure consistent execution.
  • Partner with buying and allocations teams to be knowledgeable of seasonal buys and key items for flawless planning and execution of monthly floorsets.
  • Analyze inventory of key categories to suggest transfers between stores in your home market, as well as communicating any product needs in the areas of depth and assortment.
  • Utilize sales reports to track, analyze, and react to business ensuring area meets or exceeds financial plan and payroll goals.
  • Report into senior director vm – north america for overall visual direction and approval for all floorsets, window execution, and fixture movement.
  • Cultivate strong working partnerships with store managers, field leadership, and corporate office.
  • Ability to recruit, interview, onboard and train any new visual talent in home market.
  • Participate in various new store openings, relocations, and renovations with pre/post support.
  • Ocersees travel budget for self and new york vm teams.

 

 Specialty Floorset:

  • Collaborate on all visual directives and updates supporting shorthills monthly.
  • Partner with buying teams to understand key investments/strategies.
  • Partner with 3D creative prior to floorset to discuss seasonal window and interior creative direction/execution for new york
    • Collaborate on monthly window and interior creative layouts
    • Compile & manage store architecture information, install needs, and window distribution
    • Coordinate window and interior installs for new york
  • Partner with creative/production teams to request replacement/additional creative props
  • Source and ship 3D interior props
  • Monitor Store needs for monthly floorsets, create mid-month updates

 

 Wholesale:

  • Collaborate with NA Visual Senior Director to develop/implement wholesale strategies
  • Support wholesale VM market set ups , archiving all photos and directives for future deliveries
  • Oversee all NYC floorsets
    • Partner with global visual ops to schedule monthly floorsets and create visual directives
    • Develop/maintain visual standards

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities required:

 

  • Proven experience in merchandise presentation skills. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must have 3-5 years of experience in a retail environment, previous experience should reflect experience in a multi store environment.
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize to deadlines.
  • Must understand how visual impact financial objectives and possess a strong level of business acumen
  • Detail oriented with an entrepreneurial disposition.
  • High-level leadership skills with the ability to communicate effective and graciously with all levels within the organization, including strength in presentation skills.
  • Comfortable and confident in making effective and autonomous decisions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to manage all personal visual travel, entertainment budgets and calendars.
  • Proficient in: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Creative suites.  

Physical requirements:

  • Flexibility to work on off peak hours including weekends and overnights.
  • Able to safely lift/move 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable with heights and climbing ladders.
  • Able to stand and stretch for extended periods of time.
  • Minimal travel required.
  • Able to travel using various forms of transportation such as airplanes, trains, and buses.
  • Posses a drivers license and have the ability to drive to store locations.
